This week might be a bit quieter for me here on my blog. I really need to focus on planning our upcoming vacation. I still have a ton to plan, and I know with the holidays the next 44 days are going to fly by. Plus, this is a big trip - Disney and New Orleans with the in-laws, many, many details still need to be worked out - I am the Chief Vacation Officer and don't want to let anyone down! :)
If I see any screaming good deals, I will post them still - but otherwise, it will probably be a tad quieter around here for a few days.
Meanwhile, a quick deal I spotted yesterday at ShopKo - they have a very nice assortment of games on sale for $6.99 or $8.99 (Monopoly, Clue, Hi Ho Cherry Oh, Life, etc.). In addition to that, there is a mail in rebate - $2.00 or $3.00 respectively. I picked up "Don't Break the Ice" for Henry. I also noticed cool trucks that make noise on sale for $3.99, marked down from $7.99 - and there were quite a few other mark downs as well. Looks like ShopKo is kinda getting in on the toy price wars between Target and Wal*Mart!

ShopKo Toy and Halloween Sale
I noticed in this week's flyer, ShopKo is having a Buy 1, get 1 50% off on ALL their toys.
They also have their Halloween/Fall items on sale for 50% off.
I headed over there this afternoon during Henry's nap to scope out what I might find.
There is a big selection of costumes! The costumes original prices are INSANE! No way, no how would I spend $40 on a costume! I could barely choke up to hand $20 over for one. But I did. And it's cute. And it fits well. And Henry loves it. I'm sure he'll wear it for dress-up in the future. So, it's almost worth $20. He's be stylin' at the church Harvest Party in a couple weeks.
I also found a ton of toys on clearance. For Christmas, I purchased a Mr. Potato Head ($6.99) with a $2.00 coupon found here, and a Cars book that has a steering wheel, and tons of noises, for $10. The book was a bit steep, but I know he'll enjoy it. ShopKo also had the DanceCam (on clearance for $29.99-the coupon is for another $10 off!), the Glow Worm and DinoRoars you can find coupons for all of those here.
I may go back and purchase a few more toys, the DinoRoars for my nephew possibly. 2 Matchbox cars would only be about $1.50 and they make great stocking stuffers. ShopKo also has quite a few Leapster items on clearance that may end up being a great deal paired with the coupons I mentioned here.
Overall, a costume and two toys for $37. The original cost would have been over $50. I wasn't thrilled with the final cost, but I know they are all things we will use, and my little one will enjoy--better than spending less money on things he won't like!

ShopKo Baby Sale
I just got an email from ShopKo....as you can see from the logo above, they are having a baby sale. The email lists the following:
- 50% off baby and toddler sets & separates
- All baby gear on sale
- Save big on everyday essentials
Now, being that ShopKo is traditionally more expensive than Target, I'm not sure if these sales will be any good. If I have time, I'll pop in and report back if I find anything worth it!

Econo/ShopKo/Target Runs
Last night I made three stops around town. $26.01 was spent for all the items above. Here is the breakdown.
First up, Econo Foods:
First up, Econo Foods:
Keebler Fudge Shoppee Cookies: 2/$3.69 (or BOGO)
2/$2.69, or $1.35 each
Pringles: 2/$3
$1/2 from 8/30 paper
2/$2, or $1 each
TOTAL SPENT: $4.69
Next was ShopKo:
Covergirl Make-up: BOGO
$2.50/2 coupon I clipped a long while back
I selected the cheapest mascara they had included with the deal, $4.99
2/$2.49, or $1.25 each
TOTAL SPENT: $2.49 (plus tax...I have seemed to misplace my receipt!)
And lastly, Target:
Pampers Jumbo Pack: $9.99
$1.00 coupon
$6.49
Huggies "Little Movers" Jumbo Pack: $8.99
$3.00 coupon I got in a mailer a long time ago (only good for "Little..." line or Pure & Natural)
$4.49
Johnson & Johnson Baby Wash: $2.24
$1.00 coupon from here
$0.24
Dawn Foam Pump Soap: $2.25

Skittles Crazy Cores: $0.52 each
$0.04 for two
General Mills Cereal Cup: $1.00

Tresemme Hair Spray: $3.00
No coupon, but this was 10% off and I use this every day, so a deal is a deal!
Ziploc Bags: $1.99
BOGO coupon from 8/30 newspaper
2/$1.99, or $1 each
I did not take advantage of the Speical K deal because the selection at our Target was very lacking-and we truly have enough snacks!
TOTAL: $18.83, I saved $19.92!
Stash:
Different snacks - cookies & chips. I need to resist the good deals - we are going to end up gaining so much weight!
3 Baby wash (one that I uncovered last night while sorting through a bin-o-stuff, one from previous run!)
2 packs of diapers (plus, we have a slight stockpile previously)
2 mascara
2 soap (one from previous Target run)
4 bags of Skittles. We are going on vacation tomorrow, I'm bringing a pack on the plane for Henry. An excellent distraction tool.
$75 a Week Grocery Challenge:
I'm only counting the actual food, so...
- $21.43 left. I want to hit up Cash Wise tonight before we leave to take advantage of some of the shelf/freezer deals.

ShopKo Deals
In the ShopKo ad I found at least one goody:
- Covergirl cosmetics: BOGO - $2.50 coupon, I got this coupon a while back and it expires today!
- Bounce Dryer Bar: $3.99 - $1.00 coupon from 8/30 paper = $2.99, this may be cheaper at Target because I also have a $1.50 Target coupon...not sure on the price at Target.
- Tide: $6.99 - $1.00 coupon from 8/30 paper = $5.99, again, there may be a better deal at Target on a larger size on sale for $10.99. We aren't yet in desperate need of laundry soap, so I just might wait for a better bargain.
