This stuff can add up quickly. Here is a tip I found online for homemade detergent:
Mix 1 tablespoon borax with 1 tablespoon baking soda. Add it to your dishwasher and you are ready to go.
Seems pretty simple. When we run out of our current stuff, maybe I will try this...

I just bought a box of Borax a few weeks ago to do this same thing. I am hoping it saves money, and I feel better about using fewer chemicals on our dishes. I also hope it actually works : )!!
