Get $10 free at Benihana

Benihana is running a special from November 16 through December 31, if you purchase a $50 Benihana gift card, you will get a bonus $10 gift card.

I love these kind of deals - even if you just give it as a gift to yourself! :)

This week

This week might be a bit quieter for me here on my blog.  I really need to focus on planning our upcoming vacation.  I still have a ton to plan, and I know with the holidays the next 44 days are going to fly by.  Plus, this is a big trip - Disney and New Orleans with the in-laws, many, many details still need to be worked out - I am the Chief Vacation Officer and don't want to let anyone down! :)

If I see any screaming good deals, I will post them still - but otherwise, it will probably be a tad quieter around here for a few days.

Meanwhile, a quick deal I spotted yesterday at ShopKo - they have a very nice assortment of games on sale for $6.99 or $8.99 (Monopoly, Clue, Hi Ho Cherry Oh, Life, etc.).  In addition to that, there is a mail in rebate - $2.00 or $3.00 respectively.  I picked up "Don't Break the Ice" for Henry.  I also noticed cool trucks that make noise on sale for $3.99, marked down from $7.99 - and there were quite a few other mark downs as well.  Looks like ShopKo is kinda getting in on the toy price wars between Target and Wal*Mart!

Turn $40 worth of change into $50

We have a coin cup that I throw all our spare change in.  It recently got full, so we started another one.  I didn't really have a plan with this money when I started it, but, I am pretty certain it will be going toward Christmas presents this year.

There are several Coinstar machines around town - Econo Foods, Wal*Mart, and Cash Wise all have these machines that will count your money.  If you ask for cash back, you will be charged $0.09 to the dollar; however, you can also trade your change in for a e-certificate to a number of various vendors.  Amazon, iTunes, JCPenny and more - and you won't be charged the $0.09 per dollar fee.

Now through December 6, if you take $40 worth of change to one of these machines and select to have it as a e-certificate, you will get $50!!

What a great deal!

Click HERE for Coinstar's website about the program.

Thank you to Karen for the info!

$10 Movies from Amazon, Target or Wal*Mart

Currently Amazon, Target.com and Walmart.com are having price wars. One of the areas they are warring in is TOYS, but another is movies.

Right now if you pre-order any of these movies, you will get them for just $10.

Julie & Julia
Terminator Salvation (Widescreen Edition)
My Sister's Keeper
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (Single-Disc Edition)
Star Trek (Single-Disc Edition)
Four Christmases
G-Force (Single Disc Widescreen)
Santa Buddies

All the cheap wipes come in handy in more ways than one!

So far I have 12 boxes of the Up & Up wipes that I've told you about getting from Target for $0.29.

Well, this week I have been teaching Henry about Joshua and the walls of Jericho from the Bible.  An idea came to me last night to use all those wipe boxes to build a wall that we can knock down.

It was a GREAT lesson!  He really got into it!  Of course, the wall tumbling was his favorite part.

Walking around the wall

Blowing the trumpet

And the walls came tumbling down!!!

So not only are wipes good for cleaning heinies, hands, faces, etc. but also excellent for Bible lessons!

Menu Plan Monday

I have hardly even thought of a menu plan yet this week!  I've been just trying to catch up with things since we were gone Friday-Sunday.  I'm getting closer. :)

Here is what I have rolling around in my brain for this week-easy stuff so I can focus on getting caught up with life again.

  • Eat out
  • Turkey or chicken burgers with baked fries and corn
  • Chicken stir-fry with rice
  • Diet Coke Chicken with rice and green bean casserole.
  • I am 99% certain we have pork chops in the freezer.  So, pork chops in the crock pot, using this recipe.  Sided with some mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole (should last us 2 meals easily).
  • Leftover buffet.  My favorite.  lol
For more menu plans, check out OrgJunkie!

Wal*Mart $0.40/lb Turkey deal extended

According to the Star Trib, Wal*Mart is extending their $0.40 per pound turkey deal I mentioned HERE.  It was due to end today, but they are extending it through the end of the week...again, while quantities last.  Do you know anyone who got one?

If we had a Cub in town, their turkeys are just $0.39 per pound, and they are issuing rain checks.  Wal*Mart is not.

Enter to win a free Disney vacation!

Most people know how Disney World nutty we are...so I got all excited to find out Pier 1 is giving away a trip!  Sure, the odds are slim, but ya never know!!

How to get Disney's Monsters Inc & Up for a total of $4.98

I just read a post from Couponing to Disney on how to get BOTH Disney's Monster's Inc and Disney's UP movies for a total of $4.98.

It takes some work, so stay with me.

First, the Blu-Ray Combo packs have both the blu-ray and the regular DVD in them, so even if you don't have a Blu-Ray player, this will work for you.

1) Take the Best Buy ad from this weeks paper into Target.
2) Best buy has UP on sale for $23.99 (Blu-Ray) and Monsters Inc for $18.99 (Blu-Ray).  Total is $42.98
3) Use the following coupons:
  • $8 off Monsters Inc. Printable HERE
  • $10 off UP Printable HERE
  • $10/2 Target printable HERE
Total is now $14.98 for both, $7.98 each.  GREAT DEAL.

4) Submit for two of these rebates:
  • Get $5 back by mail wybUP and (2) participating Kernel Seasons product. (Exp 2/28/10)
  • Get $5 back by mail wybUP and (2) Birds Eye Viola meals (exp 2/28/10)
  • Get $4 back by mail wyb UP and 1 Ronzoni ($1.00/2 printable HERE - get 2 boxes of spaghetti at Target for $0.54 after coupon) Ronzoni Smart Taste ($1.00/2 printable HERE), Creamette, San Giorgio, American Beauty, Prince or Skinner pasta. (Exp 1/15/10)
These rebates DO allow a copy of the receipt.  They only want the proof of purchase on the back of the DVD, and it has 2, so you can do two of the rebates!

Total is now $4.98 (or $5.98)  for both movies!  What an excellent Christmas gift these would make!

I surely will do the $4 rebate with the $0.54 pasta.  Not sure on the others since I don't have coupons, and they aren't items I normally buy.  But even so, $10 for 2 movies?!  Yahoo!

**PLEASE NOTE: I am reading a few other posts on this same deal and some Targets are refusing to match the $18.99 Monster's Inc deal since it is a Best Buy sale, wyb both Up and Monster's Inc, you get it for $18.99 (as opposed to $28.99).  Some Targets are not honoring that AND the $10 Target coupon.  I will ask at the Hutch Target this week and report back.

Huggies Little Movers Free Sample

There is another Huggies Little Movers free sample HERE.  Even if you requested the other one I told you about recently, you can request this one as well.  You can choose from sizes, 3, 4, or 5.

Menards Rebates and Free items

This morning Henry and I made a "quick" stop at Menards.

By quick, I mean an hour!  lol

Since I have extra money in the "household" fund this week, I decided to pick up a new toilet seat for my bathroom since mine cracked a while back.  Not necessary, but it will look better.  And since we have the extra money this week, now is a good time!  I found a nice one on clearance for $5.99, then I opted to get a pretty mantle style clock on sale for $5.99 that will look great in our basement.  Since that is over $10, I now qualified for their items that are free after rebate....

This week the have a handsaw that is $10, and then free after rebate.  And an indoor/outdoor rug that is $3.00, and free after rebate.  Joe didn't need the saw, and couldn't think of anyone who does, so I just got the rug.

Then I picked up a few other things:
  • 2 sets of white Christmas lights, $1.99 each.  $1.00 rebate on each.  $0.99 each.
  • 1 3' Christmas tree, on sale for $9.99.  $3.00 rebate.  $6.99
  • Glade Soy Candle, $2.49.  $1.00 manny coupon (I cannot recall where from, sorry!), $1.50 rebate - free!
  • Glade scented oil candle and refill pack.  $1.95 each.  Used 11/1 SS manny, BOGO.  $1.95 for both.
I have a couple other of the BOGO Glade candles, along with the coupons I mentioned HERE, that I may use at Target to take advantage of the $5 gift card deal.

The neat thing about these Menards rebates, is they are in a check form that you can use at Menards, to roll into the next freebie--or for things you truly need, get them "free".  I'll be getting a total of $9.50 back this time.

Wal*Mart Run

After Coborn's, we made a quick pit stop at Wal*Mart to pick up some printer paper and Joe wanted to look at something in the electronics department.  Henry and I browsed around the grocery area and picked up a few deals.  The teeny bin for the $0.40/lb. turkeys was completely empty. :(

Here is what we ended up with:
3 jars of Heniz gravy, priced at $0.75 each.
$1.00/3 printable here
Final price, $1.25/3, or $0.42 each

3 boxes of Stove Top stuffing, priced at $0.78 each.
No coupons.  Good price.

Wal*Mart brand pop tarts.  Joe's new addiction.  Priced at $1.86.
No coupons.

2  bottles of Welch's Sparkling Grape Juice, priced at $2.97 each.
Final price, $1.94/2 or, $0.97 each

1 box of Betty Crocker instant potatoes, priced at $0.78
Final price, $0.38

1 ream of copy paper, $2.97

Total: $10.74

Results of my Coborn's Triple Coupons Trip

Well, I'd like to say I made a great sweep....but I didn't.

I found really high prices, and not too many deals that I cared to take advantage of.  Some of the prices, even with a double/triple coupon were still higher than I'm used to paying.  With that said, I think I did alright.  However, I won't be making a special trip to Glencoe unless the ad has something fantastic in it.

I did find the policy to be the following:
  • Coborn's will double, triple on Monday's, any coupon up to $0.50 in face value.
  • If the coupon is labeled "DO NOT DOUBLE/TRIPLE" they will not.
  • If a coupon is higher than $0.50 in value, it will double/triple up to the max, $1.00 on doubles, $1.50 on triples.
  • You can use up to 10 coupons in the double/triple event.
Here is what we ended up with:
4 gallons of Kemps Select milk at $2.49 each.  Decent price.  No coupons.
Final price, $9.96

2 family packs of Gold N Plump boneless skinless chicken breasts, priced at $5.99 each.
2 $0.75 printable here, doubled to $1.50 off each.
Final price, $8.98 for almost 5 pounds of chicken.  Pretty nice price.

2 Starbucks Frappachinos, priced at $2.49 each - they are the larger sized ones.
2 $1.00 printables that are no longer available, doubled to $1.50 off each.
Final price, $0.99 each.  Guilty pleasure. :)

1 Hot Pocket, priced at $1.67.
$0.50 manny, tripled to $1.50
Final Price, $0.17.

1 Nestle Semi-Sweet Morsels, priced at $1.99
$0.50 manny, tripled to $1.50
Final Price, $0.49

Our total was $21.58

Coborn's TRIPLE Coupons

Tonight I am beyond excited to drive to Glencoe and take advantage of the TRIPLE coupons the Glencoe Coborn's is doing on Mondays--and they double everyday!!  They will triple anything up to $0.50 face value-so it becomes $1.50 off.  I believe they will do this up to 10 coupons.  I am not certain if they will take a higher value coupon, say $0.60 and just make that $1.50 as well?  I will try to find out.  And a HUGE thank you to the poster who gave me the tip!

My plan is to go through the store and look at the tags for anything $2.00 and under that I would have a coupon for.  I have printed oodles of coupons from HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.

I am hoping for some cheap/near free Green Giant veggies, Betty Crocker potatoes, Yoplait, Betty Crocker frosting, cereal and more.  I have a huge stash of coupons that I will go through as I shop.  It's probably going to take a very long time, and I'm going to be exhausted...but, I'm really excited about it all!!  I will report back with my deals.
