$0.01 Arby's Coupons!

No, that's not 1 cent off, it's for getting various things at Arby's for $0.01!

Arby's has really been cranking out the deals lately with their all-summer-long free-item Wednesdays, now this great campagin.

The coupons are in Saturday's Hutchinson Shopper (and I'm guessing all over the State/Nation as well), when you purchase a certain item, you get what is on the coupon for just $0.01!

For example, you buy any sandwich at regular price, and you can get sidekickers for a penny.  Or get a Roastburger for a penny when you buy fries and a drink (does not specify size) at regular price.

How does that slogan go..."I'm thinkin' Arby's"? ;-)

These coupons do not expire until October 31.

$1/2 Fiber One Bars Printable and more

You can sign up to get a coupon for $10/2 Olay Pro-X Proucts --> HERE <--

I haven't received my free sample yet from VocalPoint, and I haven't a clue how much these cost...I'm guessing they are pretty pricey with that high value of a coupon.  But, if you like the products, this would be a great thing to sign up for!  It looks like there is a "brief questionnaire" with this coupon request as well.

Home Made Simple Coupon Book

Did I tell you about the newest Home Made Simple coupon book?

When I first started dabbling in real couponing I caught wind of this website and the coupons they sent out-I requested it among a frenzy of requesting and printing coupons in attempts to build my coupon stash.

Much to my surprise, and delight, there were some excellent coupons in there!!!

They recently produced another one, and I requested it, and I got it in the mail today!  Here are a few of my favorites:

$1.50 on Dawn Direct Foam Pump
$1.00 on Dawn Hand Renewal
$1.00 on Cascade ActionPacs or Gel

Sign up for this great sight and keep eye for when they put out their coupon books-you won't want to miss 'em!

Last night I made a run into Econo Foods.  I approached the checkout with 1 internet coupon ($0.55/2 Pizza Rolls from SmartSource); however, I learned they do not take internet coupons.  I am certain I have used them before, so it might depend on the cashier you get.  I'll have to see if I can find their "official" policy....

I still did pretty good:

Hunt's Ketchup, 2/$3
$1/2 from AllYou magazine
2/$2

Crunch n' Munch, $0.99
I realized my coupon was $1/2 - not what I orginally thought, so I bought 2 boxes...Henry was thrilled.
2/$0.98

Strawberries, $2.50

Pizza Rolls, $0.99
$0.40/2
2/$1.58

Bird's Eye Steamer Veggies, 3/$5
$1.00/3 (again, I had thought my coupon was different on this one, still a decent deal for conveience food though)
3/$4.00

Bic Soleil Razors, $3.99
$3.00
$0.99!!!  GREAT DEAL!  These are usually over $6 at this store.

Total was $13.30.

I also found a new coupon box since my current one is bursting...that was $5.65 (not part of the $13.30 total above), which I thought was decent, being my current one was almost $5 from Wal*Mart and it's teeny compared to this beast of a box!  I hope to provide pictures in a future update....

$75 a Week Grocery Challenge Update

It's the end of the month for us, being it's Pay Day.

My plan for September was to only spend $75 per week, or $150 a paycheck on groceries.

How did I do?

I did okay.

Not great.  I did go over, but not drastically!  When all was said and done, I still had the $200 savings to put away in our "rainy day mug".  However, some of it was gas fund money versus grocery.

Lessons Learned:
1) Cut back on the junk: the junk food is always on sale, and for really great deals.  But, it's JUNK.  We don't need 48 canisters of $0.18 Pringles.  1 is fine.  And life doesn't end if we have no chips in the house.
2) Use the money saving from not buying junk to stock up on the good stuff:  we had a GREAT sale on chicken-I did stock up, and it sent me over the budget.  Worth it yes, but I could have stayed within if I had avoided the cookies, Pringles, Pop Tarts and Toaster Strudels.
3) Couponing is worth the work: who else gets a natural high when you reciept says you saved 48%?  :)

Pay Day Friday

It's Pay Day again!  Always a happy day. ;)

Last night Joe crunched the budget and then procceded to move over $1500 into savings!  This was his bonus money and my entire paycheck.

Why are we moving my entire paycheck?

Because we are preparing ourself for October 16....better known as "My last day at work"!

Yes!  I quit my job!  Today's economy tells me not to quit; however, I must follow what God has called me to do, and that is stay at home and raise my child (and any future children).

It is time.

And I'm psyched!

That has been the point of all this penny-pinching - preparing ourselves to make it possible for this event - and we did it.

With no child care costs, we will save over $400 a month.
Without having to drive over 60 miles 4 times a week, we should save a bit on gas costs.
With couponing, I have easily cut the grocery budget down $200 a month.
With being at home, I am hoping the temptation for dining out with let up some.  I can start to prepare meals earlier in the day.  Granted there will be somedays I'm exhausted and just want a meal served to me by a smiling server; but, I'm hoping those days are fewer.  My current job is demanding.  INCREDIBLY so - I'm fried at the end of a day and the last thing I want to do is dirty my kitchen, cook for 30 minutes and then have to clean it all up....by the time it's all done, it's 8:30 and time for Henry to go to bed.  Not fun.  I'm hoping that will change some.

I am going to have to plan more.  Plan for big expenses like Christmas, birthday gifts and vacations.
We won't be going to Disney World 3 times in a year.
I will have to look at the prices of things.
I'll have to think ahead.

Instead I get to teach my child new things.
I get to play with him.
I get to see life through his eyes.
I get to train him, shape him and provide the proper envrionment for him to grow up in.  (our child care provider does an amazing job--but it's not home....)
We are obeying God and my family will reap the bounty of that obedience.
And I am certain both Joe and I will learn how to rely on the provision of God a bit more during this time.  A wonderful lesson to learn and experience.

The rewards are unending.

GREAT Giveaway over at "Deal"icious Mom!

Check out that Piggy Bank!  This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen.  It gets this money-savin' girl all excited and revved up!

There is a slot for Saving, for spending, donating, and investing.  I am all about teaching your children early on the discipline and the adventure of choosing how to manage your money - rather than allowing it to manage you!

I saw this piggy bank at Babies R Us when I was pregnant with Henry; however, by the time he was born, our closest store no longer carried it and I haven't seen it again until now.

"Deal"icious Mom is having a GIVEAWAY for one!  Go check out her very helpful blog and register to win!

Target Deal!

Tonight I ran into Target in attempts to buy gravy.

However, our limited food section in our local Target does not carry any gravy.  I was a bit disappointed...BUT, I did find a great deal!

Target has Healthy Choice frozen meals on sale right now, 4/$10 or $2.50 each.
Go to healthychoice.com and you will find a printable coupon for $2.00 off the frozen meals - you can print two using your browser's back button.

So, instead of gravy, I bought 2 Healthy Choice frozen meals for a buck!

Free "Being Girl" Sample Kit

I just read a post from Utah Deal Diva on how to get a free sample kit from "Being Girl" - it includes 2 Tampax Pearl Tampons, 1 Always Infinity Maxi-Pad, 2 Always Pantiliners, and 1 Always Feminine Wipe!

A lot of times these free samples come with coupons!

$10 Tuesday Decor Finds

When I was planning my wedding I signed up with TheKnot.com.  After the wedding passed, I was automatically signed up for TheNest.com, which is run by the same company.  I haven't paid much attention to The Nest, but one little headline caught my eye on an email I got yesterday:

"Chic Decor Finds for Under $10"

Apparently they do this every Tuesday.  It's kind of a neat thing to scroll through...might generate a couple good ideas for Christmas gifts.

Target in-home mailer coupon book

Tonight I checked the mail and much to my delight, I found a little book of Target coupons!  I'm not sure if this is a general mailing, or how we got this, but it was actually address to my husband! :)

Lots of great coupons to pair up with manufacturer coupons, here are a few of my favorites that I know I also have manufacturer for to make a superb deal-especially if Target has a sale!
  • Clorox Bleach, $0.50
  • Cottonelle, $1.00
  • Bounty, $1.00
  • Dial bar or body wash, $1.00
  • Ziploc, $0.50
  • Swiffer, $1.00
  • Kelloggs cereal or POP TARTS (lol!), $0.50
  • There are quite a few pet coupons as well, I'll pass these to my coupon clipping co-worker and hope she can score a deal.

VocalPoint

In my research on coupons and cutting the budget, I have run across "VocalPoint" more than once.  Apparently they send out some pretty sweet samples and coupons when you join up.  You have to actually login to their site and request various samples, and then come back and review them--so a teeny bit of work is required, but it sounds like fun to me!

The current promotion that I requested earlier today is a 28 day sample of Olay Pro-X.  I'm really looking forward to trying this product!  It is supposed to help your skin be softer, younger looking and keep moisture in-I need that!

Check it out, http://www.vocalpoint.com/

$1.60 off Nature Valley Nut Clusters

I saw these for $1.99 the other day at Econo....$1.60 off means just 33 cents!

Click --> HERE <--

You can print two, just user your internet browser's back button!

Free Cards

Somewhere along the line within the past month, I found a link to request 2 free greeting cards from Hallmark.  I really should have shared the link...if I can find it, I will if the cards are still available.

Anyway, I got them in the mail this past week and they are really cute!

The first one is to send to another Mom and it has a picture of a woman at the fridge, it reads:

"Sure we're busy, but we can still feed our kids well-rounded meals.  Pizza...toaster waffles...bologna...doughnuts..."

You open it, and:

"How are things at your house?"
I about busted out laughing (while at work) when I read this.

Guess what Henry had for breakfast this morning?????!

The second card is a picture of a frog and it reads,

"I found this smile..."

You open it, and:

"...and thought you could use it!"

It's meant to give to your child as they embark on the first day of school.  While Henry is too young for school, this greeting card is generic enough to send to a friend who needs a pick-me-up.

I fully expected lame cards-but these are really great!  Thanks Hallmark!  (and Wal*Mart....lol)

all*you magazine coupons - August, September and October issues

While I don't usually shop at Wal*Mart, I have been stopping in the past two months to pick up a copy of all*you magazine because it's PACKED with coupons...plus it truly is a great magazine!  I hope to subscribe to it soon.

I currently have August & September's issues in my hands and haven't clipped any coupons yet because I'm still reading the articles!  :)  But taking a glance at the full list of coupons in both issues, here are a few of the coupons I really like:

August:
$1/1 Bird's Eye Frozen Veggies
$0.50/1 Cottenelle toilet paper
$0.50/2 Knorr rice & pasta - These are often on sale for $1, and Henry will eat this stuff by the bowlful!
BOGO Spearmint Eclipse Gum - for my mint gum habit....
FREE Weight Watchers Smart Ones Dessert - OH DROOL!  They just came out with a peanut butter cup one that I spied at Target the other night!!!!

September:
$1/1 Crunch & Munch - on sale this week at Econo for $0.99
$2/3 Lean Cuisine Entrees - I really like these meals for lunch and Target has them on a Price Drop for $2.50 (4/$10), with this coupon they become about $1.84 each.
$1/2 Marie Calendar's Dinners - these are on sale at Target this week (and there are additional printable coupons out on Marie Calendar's website I believe...)

$2/1 Rimmel mascara = cheap!
$0.75/1 Ronzoni pasta - a box of spaghetti is around $0.74 at Target

And there are many, many more.  To check out the next issue's list (October) go --> HERE <-- (over $92 in October!)  If you notice the URL in your address bar, you can simply change the month to look at any month's list-o-coupons!
