This weekend
As you may have gathered, due to my lack of posts, I am away this weekend. We left on Thursday night and will return tomorrow (Sunday) at some point. We are visiting my Grandma and celebrating her 88th birthday. It was a huge surprise party for her - she had NO idea! It's been a great weekend, seeing family members and friends, visiting with my Grandma and sharing many, many memories.
I hope to have the coupon match-ups done on Sunday at some point, or at the latest on Monday. I will also get caught up on my email and any freebies I might as soon as I can this week!

Wal*Mart's $20 Thanksgiving Feast
Lots of Wal*Mart news today! I've just started looking at this store in a slightly fresher light, and this sort of report helps even more.
Reuters (my old company!) is reporting that Wal*Mart is featuring a deal that will give you an entire Thanksgiving dinner for just $20.
Now THAT is awesome!
Grade A Turkeys will be just $0.40 a pound. (when I was at Wal*Mart earlier, I noticed the Butterball's were on sale for, I think, $0.68, which is amazing! I didn't scope out other brands)
The "feast" that Wal*Mart is advertising is as follows:
-- One 12-pound Grade A turkey (limit 2)
-- Three 11 to 15.5-ounce cans Green Giant vegetables
-- Two 14-ounce cans Ocean Spray cranberry sauce
-- Three 6-ounce boxes of Stove Top stuffing
-- One 5-pound bag of red potatoes
-- One 12-count package of Sara Lee dinner rolls
-- One 22-ounce pumpkin roll cake
This deal started today, November 4.
I WILL be buying those turkeys!

Free Thanksgiving Holiday Recipe E-Book

When you click the above link, you will have to fill out a short survey, then it will take you to a page with a bunch of offers, you can just click the "Continue" button on the bottom of the page to get the link to the recipe book-you don't have to sign up for anything.
It's a recipe book (.pdf so you can save it to your computer) from QualityHealth, so it has all the health information at the bottom of each recipe, which I like because then I can know if I can squeeze in an extra slice of pie without completely ruining myself. ;) I also noticed at least one low-fat recipe.
I like to keep all sorts of recipes on my computer, which is located right outside of my kitchen. I just bring up the recipe and can quickly read it and get back to cooking. So, I like this even more that I can print it, or simply save to my computer!

Wal*Mart One Day Sale - Saturday, November 7, 8:00 am
Some really great deals! I don't know squat bout TV's so I can't comment on those, but I like all the others!
$298 HP Laptop
$148 Blu Ray Player
$199 XBox 360, plus you get a $100 gift card!
$29 DVD Player
I reallyyyyyy want that laptop. I have been a die-hard with the Dells; however, my trusty geek husband says HPs are quite good as well. My current lappy is getting old. And it's slow. That HP lappy has 3 gigs of RAM. A 250 GB hard drive.
This nerd is droolin'.
Shopping at Aldi's
Many people have probably never hard of a grocery store called Aldi's.
But, where I grew up in a suburb of Chicago, Aldi's was right down the street and the store we went to most often. I didn't realize it as a child, but it is a discount grocery store. When we moved to Minnesota, my Mom would drive to Iowa a couple times a year for a HUGE shopping trip at Aldi's. It was that good. (and I'm hoping it still is!)
Last week when I was in St. Cloud for a birthday party of a dear friend's little one, I noticed the beautiful glowing blue letters from a building "ALDI'S"
"THERE IS AN ALDI'S IN ST. CLOUD NOW!" I shouted.
It was late at night. We weren't going in, but ooooh, I wanted to.
Turns out, the store wasn't even open yet! My friend called just the other day and said she got a flyer in the mail about the new Aldi's store. It is opening this weekend, a grand opening that I am sure will be coupled with crazy good deals! Too bad we are going to be out of town!!!
If you are curious about Aldi's, check out the "Newbies Guide to Aldi's" --> HERE <-- as this is not a traditional American grocery store. (I don't recall the bit about the grocery cart, but I do remember my Mom bringing her own bags and grabbing boxes off the shelves...)
When I make it over there, I will be sure to report back on my deals!

3 jars of Heinz Homestyle Gravy for $1.25
I was at Wal*Mart earlier today and noticed the Heinz Homestyle Gravy was just $0.75 per jar.
Good price!
Just now I saw a post from Coupon Geek with a link to a $1.00/3 jars of the gravy --> HERE <--
Better price!
3 jars for $1.25, about $0.42 each. Score.

$0.75 printable coupon off ANY 6 cups of yogurt
Another great one --> HERE <-- (same site as cheese) - $0.75 off ANY 6 yogurt cups.
Food Club yogurt was on price drop for $0.40 each last week (not sure if they still are?).
6 cups would be $2.40 - this coupon would make it just $1.65 for 6 cups of yogurt (about $0.28 each)!!
Or wait until there is a deal on Yoplait with 2 free cups from Cash Wise. They run that deal quite often, so I expect it to come around pretty soon.
$1.50 printable coupon off ANY cheese!
Great coupon alert!
Click --> HERE <-- to print off a coupon for $1.50 off 2 pounds (or more) of ANY cows milk cheese. That includes store brands. Cheap, cheap or even free when paired with a sale!
This coupon will only work for those in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri.
You should be able to print two of these per computer! Yay!
Target game update & Wii games
I reported earlier about the Pictureka! Flipper game being just $4.99 after coupons. However, I was incorrect. I was getting the Flipper game and the Kubes game mixed up. The Flipper is NOT on sale this week for $14.99. So, unless you need a game this week, I would hold tight onto all these coupons and hope for a sale!
However, for those of you that own a Wii...Target has their Wii games for a "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" this week. Plus there is a printable Target coupon --> HERE <-- for $10 off wyb 2.
This could make quite a deal!! Sadly, this family is Wiiless. :)

You can register --> HERE <-- with Tylenol to gain access to their online calendar which includes various coupons to print. For example, in November I see a $2 coupon for Tylenol PM, $1 on Children's Tylenol and more.

Good Read: The Lazy Girl's Guide to Coupons
For anyone that wants to coupon, but the whole organized box/binder/pouch freaks you out a tad...check out this post --> HERE <--
I have a big-o-box, sorted alphabetically by brand. I clip all like brands together, meaning all my Huggies coupons are clipped together in the H envelope. This makes the clipping/sorting/storing part take longer, but I can usually find a coupon very quickly in the store. Which is handy with a toddler!
And I just can't yet let myself pass up a steal. My giant box comes with me in every store....!

Target Toy Coupons, $4.99 game!
A friend alerted me of the MANY Target Toy Coupons found --> HERE <--
Remember, these are Target coupons, so they can be stacked with manufacturer coupons!
I noticed the Pictureka! Flipper game, and the Clue Secret & Spies game on Target's list (Hasbro game), --> HERE <-- is a $5 printable to stack with for a total of $10 off.
Pictureka! is on sale for $14.99 this week, so that means just $4.99!
Anyone recall if Clue is on sale too?

Hutchinson Mall Trip
Last night Joe and I ran to the mall....I ducked into a couple stores while he and Henry rode the tractors over at Runnings.
Christopher & Bank has a rack of shorts, skirts and tops (mostly tops) for just $5. They have several displays of 30% off items, and they told me all that will be bumping up to 40% off this Saturday and Sunday.
JCPenny has a sale on their Clearance items, buy one, get another at 50% off, which can make for some pretty great deals. However, I did notice the clearance prices aren't rock bottom. The cheapest top I found was still $9.99. They do have layering shirts for just $6.99 as well (not a clearance item). Starting tomorrow, they are having a sale - Get $10 off wyb $50. The dollar amount off goes up as you spend more too. I might go stock up on some layering shirts with some money I have been setting aside.
JoAnn Fabrics Halloween and harvest decor is 70% off. I saw a cute fabric sign for $7. At least some of their Christmas gear is on sale for 40% off as well.
Maurices has a buy one, get one 50% off jewelry sale. Not much for sale/clearance racks that I noticed in there though.

$0.50 Dole Printable Coupon
Dole has a new game called Flip a Fruit. You have a chance to win a $10 Grocery Visa gift card. Even if you don't win, you do get access to a $0.50/1 Dole canned fruit, fruit bowl, all natural jar, or frozen fruit coupon. The fruit cans run just over $1.00 a piece at Cash Wise - and there are rarely good coupons for just ONE can, so this is a decent coupon! And will be even better if we can catch a sale with it.
You can print it twice by hitting your browser's back button.

Current Target Halloween Markdowns
A quick note...I was at Target this morning and noticed all Halloween costumes and decor are 50%. Halloween candy is 30% off.
I didn't buy too much, I did find a 20 pack of mini Play-Doh's, meant for trick-or-treaters, to make a great stocking stuffer for Henry. $2.50. And I got him a plastic pumpkin bucket to put his candy in next year, $0.49.
The candy was still too expensive for my taste, even with the Target printable coupons found --> HERE <-- (these don't expire until 11/17). I am waiting until they are less than a buck a bag, they have TONS left!!
I did also spot a 2 pack of Halloween Bounty for $1.59. Good price! Pair it with the $0.25 found in the 11/1 inserts for an even better deal.
A friend called and reported Wal*Mart also has all of their Halloween items, including candy, for 50% off. I might venture over there tonight to scope out the costumes.

Coborn's Double Coupon Mondays
In case you happen to be in St. Cloud or another town with a Coborn's...every Monday through the end of the year, Coborn's is doing double coupons for up to 10 coupons, up to $0.50 face value! That means if you have a $0.50 coupon, it will count as $1.00 off the item.
Rainbow Foods is the only other store I know of that does double coupons. Every Wednesday, up to 5 coupons, up to $1.00 in face value once you have spent $25 retail (not the sale price of an item). Sounds so confusing to me-but it would be worth figuring out if I were near a Rainbow on a regular basis, I'm sure it would mean plenty of free stuff!

Click --> HERE <-- for a $5 coupon off Fisher Price Trio Building Sets.
These sets are for ages 3+, they are designed so even the little tots can snap the pieces together and build! Even though Henry is only 2, I am going to look into these sets. He loves to build (and knock things down...), and this would be a great activity to do with him during the long cold winters ahead. I'm smellin' a good Christmas present!

This Week's Goals
Last week I did okay goal wise. This week I hope to do better. Here are the carry-overs from last week, some new ones, and some that will appear every week! I've gotten a couple done already.
[and my heart melts]
We also read a children's book on the story, and we took a laundry basket, pretended it was a boat, and placed every animal toy we could find on the "boat".
This week I will be teaching him about how it rained and how God kept Noah and the animals safe. I am going to put one of his toy boats in the bathtub and turn on the shower to show how it rains and the boat will stay afloat. Water + todder = great fun!! We'll have to play with soap after the Bible time too...he he.
Any other ideas to help teach this story? We'll probably re-read the children's book...perhaps there is something on YouTube that I can find too. Hmmm.
- Clean bathroom
- Cash Wise trip
- Econo Foods trip
Target trip- RSVP to baby shower (still haven't done this-I stink!!!!)
- Make eye appointment
- Call dentist to change appointment
- Make Henry's 2 year picture appointment
- Finish cleaning Henry's room (I got his closet done last week, yay!)
Bring (*cough* dead *cough*) plants from outside in, clean pots, etc.- Clean living room
- Laundry
- Work on "to do" folder
- Work on email inbox....it's almost 200 again. Sigh.
- Catch up on this blog! I have oodles of stuff I want to post! :)

The World's Easiest Meatloaf
Here is a VERY easy recipe for meatloaf that requires no chopping of vegetables and nearly no measuring! And very often all ingredients are on hand!
Both Joe and I are very particular when it comes to the flavor of meatloaf, and we love this one!
Ingredients
YUM!
Both Joe and I are very particular when it comes to the flavor of meatloaf, and we love this one!
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 6 ounce package of instant stuffing mix - the "herb" type flavors are best, but we have even used a chicken flavor and it was good!
- 2 pounds of ground beef (or turkey)
- ketchup
- In a large bowl beat the eggs and water.
- Add stuffing mix, mix well.
- Add meat, mix well.
- Press into an ungreased loaf pan.
- Top with ketchup.
- Bake uncovered at 350 degrees until no pink remains and the meat thermometer reads 160. This takes 1.5 to 2 hours generally.
YUM!
Menu Plan Monday
Here is what I have lined up for this week, it is a shorter week because we will be out of town starting Thursday night:
- Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn, gravy, biscuits (didn't happen last week!)
- Ham, scalloped potatoes, veggie
- Mexican of some sort, Spanish rice
- Spaghetti with meat sauce, bread, corn

There are quite a few on those sites that match-up to current Cash Wise, Target, and Wal*Mart deals, so print away!

Cash Wise "Biggest Meat Sale of the Year", 5 "green dot" items for $19.99.
I don't think this is that great of a sale depending on what you buy. Each item is essentially $4.00. The boneless Gold N Plump chicken breast pack is only 20 ounces, so that averages to be $3.20 per pound! Eeek! However, if you purchase a few of the other items, and stack the coupons, you might swing a decent deal. You must buy 5 to get the deal, otherwise you will pay full retail.
Here are a few coupon match-ups for this sale:
You should be able to print two of these per computer
-$1.50 Hormel Refrigerated Entree, click --> HERE <--
-$0.75 Gold N Plump All Natural chicken (all chicken options qualify), click --> HERE <--
Deal Scenario:
Print 2 of each of the above, buy 2 Hormel Entrees, 2-3.5 Whole Chickens (or one of the other larger chicken packs), and one other item (no-coupon), pay $15.49, an average of $3.09 per item.
You can use the bones from the chicken to make stock to stretch your buck a bit further. You can freeze the stock into ice cube trays and put the frozen cubes in freezer bags and just pull out what you need for future uses. Here is how to do it in the crock pot.
